Blogger/Blogspot Banned In Turkey

I can not visit my friend’s blogs because a court in Turkey decided the shut down entire service of Google Blogger here. (not for the first time!)

Result: I can not visit my friend’s stopmotion blogs.

Result: About 600.000 Turkish bloggers can not publish on their blogs. And millions of readers can not visit blogspot sites worldwide.

YouTube was banned here for about two years. Turkey lifted the ban couple of months ago. For all those time we viewed youtube illegally by changing our DNS settings, etc.. Everyone knows here how to find a way out for these type of bans. So, I am going to adjust my computer’s DNS settings and I will be out visiting blogs again. BUT, WHY, WHY do we need to do this?

WHY, do I have to try to find a way out because of couple of websites streaming football matches live through Blogger. (this is what was said as a the reason!) If this had not happened, I would have reading blogs, messaging, learning, sharing… now.

Although I dont care how much money Digiturk loses because of those piracy streaming through blogs, I respect their “commercial rights”. Digiturk says that Google Turkey was irresponsive to their requests of banning the given blogspot links. I understand. Google should have found a way. But, what is this court’s decision is for? Banning entire service.. I dont care how much money digiturk loose, I dont care why Google is irresponsive.. I hate football matches in the first place… So, no one, no reason can make me to respect this decision of banning entire blogspot service here. Sorry… if you like to ban my blog too, please go ahead!

Google Turkey was irresponsive (at least this is what was said), Digiturk sued those blogs and court banned all on blogspot. I could not visit my friend’s blogs and I am posting about it here. Blogspot is banned so, I will change my DNS settings or if it does not work, I will go through services like KTunnel.. Is this freedom????
